Intrauterine insemination: the first step on many paths
In IUI, prepared sperm is placed directly in the uterus on the day of ovulation. It is a simple in-office procedure, usually indicated before more complex treatments.
What it's like, step by step

Workup
We confirm at least one open tube and evaluate the semen sample.

Ovulation induction
Oral or injectable medication with ultrasound monitoring to pick the exact day.

Sample preparation
The lab selects the sperm with the best motility.

Insemination
A very thin catheter places them in the uterus. It takes minutes and needs no anesthesia.

Pregnancy test
Two weeks later. If it doesn't work, we review the next step of the plan together.
